Back to San Antonio

Image
Well, Linda and I have come back to San Antonio, where we're both from. The move was a definite pain in the neck, and we're both exhausted, but happy to see our families again. I've been so busy with packing, moving, last-minute details, etc that I haven't found a lot of time to sketch. So there are only a few recent ones, but there are many more to come, I'm sure. Odds and ends that had yet to be packed when I drew this. Visiting my friend Chris a few nights before we left. Some last minute laundry at Duds and Suds the day before the move. While staying in Amarillo before the last leg of our drive, we grabbed some late-night grub at a Waffle House.

My drawings at Tart in the Emerson

I don't know what I was thinking not posting about this before the show, but I was in a great show with Adair Peck at Tart in the Emerson Center in Bozeman last week. I hustled to make some frames for the prints, and cut a bunch of mattes. It was my first time really seeing the work framed, and I though it looked good. Here are some pics: Look at those amazing miters! The show was a big success and I sold some prints! It will be up for another month, so if you're in Bozeman go and check it out.

Who needs a house out in Hackensack

'Cause I'm movin' out (of Bozeman that is). On the 23rd Linda and I will be packing up our things and moving back to San Antonio, where it all began. We're in the process of packing furiously (ok, not so furiously) and scavenging free boxes wherever we can find them. The great box-making tool: Two nights ago we spent an evening with our friend Chris barbecuing burgers and watching The Flight of the Conchords on DVD.

missed a day

I missed a day in here somewhere.

Evenings out

Two visits to friends' houses and a couple of chairs.

Two things I use

Image
A Quick-Grip: (by the way, I have loads of respect for Irwin, the company that makes these, for not calling them "Qwik-Grips" or "Kwik-Grips" or some other intentional misspelling.) My Sennelier watercolor kit, which I use too infrequently:

Bozeman Magazine

Some Bozeman-style superstardom-- my work on the cover of Bozeman Magazine . Cool beans! And, while we're all gathered around, a recent sketch.

leigh lounge, montana state university

Image
leigh lounge, montana state university , originally uploaded by paul is just dandy . This is unfinished because the Strand Union Building where Leigh Lounge is located was closing and a janitor had to kick me out. As it is I think the wide angle foreshortening is a little severe. I may have to approach things in regular linear perspective for a while-- I'm getting sick of looking at these.

I like the camera one

Three new sketches. I hope the title of this post is not so opaque that you can't discern my feelings for the camera sketch.
