san antonio museum of art

san antonio museum of art, originally uploaded by paul heaston.

You know, if I'd just break out the watercolors more often, I might actually get a little better. I need to work larger and darker, I think. I'll try to come back to SAMA for some more watercolor attempts. This was actually done from a vacant lot just outside the SAMA parking lot, and I'm pretty sure now that I was trespassing. But what's done is done (though I may go back again).

  1. Do some more, Paul. It's great. Do you ever use watercolor over your sketches?

  2. I don't think you were trespassing. Were you in the lot across the street, the one with the quote on the wall if you look to your right? I took some pics from there myself not to long ago. Did you see all the museum stickers and nametags on the signposts right in front of the museum?

  4. Thanks all. Poppabear- I was in the vacant lot at the end of Arden Grove, separated from the SAMA lot by a fence. The lot is next to the back entrance of the KSAT building. I did notice all the stickers on the signs outside the museum. I do a similar thing in my dashboard where I stick all my museum stickers.

  5. Wonderful watercolor!
I'd like to visit this museum next time I'm in San Antonio. I really love the McNay Art Museum -- I was there a few years ago doing research for a local history museum. Marion Koogler McNay grew up in our small town and her collection was paid for by her inheritance of oil revenues from here.
